Texas synagogue hostage taker identified as 44-year-old British man, FBI says

The FBI named Malik Faisal Akram as the man who held a rabbi and several others hostage on Saturday in Colleyville, Tex. The agency said there is no indication any other individuals were involved. Authorities previously confirmed the suspect in the case was dead. The hostages were rescued.

In case there is anyone at all interested in this story,

In the end, apparently it wasn’t the FBI or the SWAT team, but the rabbi, who saved the day. Had moved the other hostages to and through the door; saw that the gunman was off guard; swung a chair at him and after knocking him over, ran out the door with the others, to safety.

Now HE is a hero.
