GlasgowJohn , was that said by, to, or about Boris Johnson?
Skip to 1m 56s and bear in mind that this was years before he became PM and was still Mayor of London.

To him , to his face some years ago
would love to see the same interview done today
A bit off topic, but amusing:
In The Washington Post, on the subject of Johnson, George Will wrote: “With his carefully tousled hair that looks as though his barber used pruning shears, his shambolic manner of an unmade bed walking, and his louche lifestyle, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson — Eton; Balliol College, Oxford University — brings to mind Dolly Parton’s quip ‘You’d be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap.’”

Spot on!
Should Boris Johnson resign? He had better hurry up and do it or else he won't have anything left to resign from. Another four of his senior aides have resigned today - on top of the steady stream of people who have either already resigned or refused to take up jobs in No.10
Top Of The World, Ma!
Kenneth Branagh is to play BoJo in this Sceptred Isle upcoming series., but of course, the story hasn't finished yet...

Branagh will have to stick his head into a blender before he can be physically believable playing Boris.
Meanwhile,
In The Washington Post, Alexandra Petri had enormous fun skewering Boris Johnson (who is, admittedly, as skewer-able as a kebab), writing that he’s in the midst of “what seems to be his 98th or 99th scandal since arriving in the public eye. One more, I think, and he is entitled to a free haircut.” |
Rats leaving a sinking ship and yes, he deserves to be skewered because he's a liar and no longer commands one jot of confidence. From anyone.
Most of those who have resigned had no other choice. They're arseholes.
Rant incoming, but he's not wrong.
Or he could just imitate his Maxi-Me, and have a tantrum & tear it up….
QuoteHe’s making very clear that they’ll have to send a Panzer division to get him out of there.
He will go, eventually.
The justice minister has resigned over the Partygate scandal, but the conservative party doesn't have the stomach for another leadership race apparently. I think Bojo is hoping this will all just go away.
Perhaps Ukraine has inadvertently taken the spotlight off him.
A very sincere apology goes a long way. It’s the comparison of the IRRESPONSIBLE, dismissive actions of these “leaders” to the dutiful actions of those who obeyed the restrictions FOR THE COMMON GOOD, that makes the politicians’ attitudes and their responses so unpalatable.
In the US these days, the swagger extends to absolutely refusing to apologize or express any regret whatsoever. It’s revolting.
I like Boris however I'm 100% sure he will stand down.

No matter the result of the Tory MP ballot today it looks like the beginning of the end is about to happen for Boris.
