Our garage annexe picks up our wifi signal however it's limited so web pages won't load. Has to be said the router is quite a distance away with some thick brick walls in between. I know sod all about it so haven't a clue how to fix it. I suggested to the wife she gets in touch with Cablevision our provider to see if there's anything they can do. Any ideas?
Extending your wifi?

Thanks Gj. Good to get some first hand experience of the problem The missus was looking at a Devolo on ML which is something similar. Is it easy to install even for a numpty?

Tp Link is very easy to install - very straight forward and there are a couple of videos on YouTube if you get stuck
Havent a clue which one is best - maybe someone else can advise .
I have used TP Link stuff before and I liked it and also I liked how it looked.

I told her to see what's available to buy locally first. I do like the look of the TP Link one.

The range extenders from TP Link have improved enormously over the years, but I haven't used them for ages. I'd certainly give the Mesh system a go.

Good...I'll tell the missus and she can decide which to get. That way if it doesn't work I won't get the blame!!

Dont worry UK Man . It will work!
Wish I had your confidence. Do you just plug one into the modem and the other into an electric socket and Bob's your Uncle?

Clearly you have to configure it, but the system does come with instructions. Normally you would do it by connection initially to a PC or laptop with a network cable, job done.
That's a one-off set up, usually and you're ready to go.

I'm just overthinking it. I'm sure they're idiot proof.

The missus has just been on the phone to Cabelvision tech department. They used to supply these things to their customers but no longer do. She recommended TP link so the missus has placed an order on ML with the link Gj posted. If it disnae work he'll be hearing from her!!

The new mesh models are even easier, you connect the first Mesh unit to the modem my cable and then you do the set up on your smartphone.
There are very clear instructions and there are youtube videos to help as well.
You do have electricity sockets in the garage where you need the extended coverage?

Yes Gj, just the one but getting more. I can connect to our wifi already it's just very weak. The missus is going to use the space next to where the car goes as an office hence why she wants it.

Big thanks to Gj for the TP Link suggestion and the ML link. It arrived today and the signal in the garage/office is fantastic!! I owe you a pint pal....and maybe a wee half.
