Do you remember the tourist stabbed in La Boca last year? We talked about him here.
A policeman was around and shot one of the two thieves, who later died in the hospital, while the second thief was caught a few days later.
Luís Chocobar (yes, seriously...), the policeman who acted upon and saved the tourist's life, spent a weekend in prison afterwards and is now facing a fine of 400,000 ARS (approx. 20,000 USD today) because excessive defense was used.
Chocobar is being received today by President Mauricio Macri, which partially compensate for the bad moment he has been living through since the shooting. He says he doesn't have that kind of money for the fine and that he believes he acted correctly.
