    The Times, this morning:

“The traditional French greeting of kissing each other on the cheek is making a comeback. La bisewas eschewed at the height of the pandemic response, but even President Macron has now returned to it.“

    And in Argentina?

I've seen very little kissing since last year and certainly no French kissing!

I don't kiss men, period, not even relatives. I know it isn't gay to kiss male relatives, but I still don't /discussion

In fairness, SpaceNut , what we’re calling a kiss is usually more like a cheek-touching air kiss. And it is part of the culture in much of Argentina, just as a formal arm’s length cordiality is in the UK -

I remember my first business trips to Argentina and I saw all the guys kiss each other...

I began to wonder what sort of country I was in.

I lived in Spain for many years and manly hugs were the only thing that was allowed.

Never kissed Tati my barber who has been cutting my hair for 15 years but I do get a kiss on the cheek from Christian our friendly painter whenever we meet.

I have to admit I do miss kissing the ladies so the sooner that starts again the better. Which I suspect won't be long, now that wearing a mask out in the street is acceptable.

Visited Tati my barber yesterday and he extended his hand for me to shake...which is an improvement on that f'ing nonsense of offering to touch knuckles.

Thought he'd have raised his prices since I last went months ago but no, twas still 600 pesos. 👍

Unbelievable. How many haircuts does he have to do in order to put a meal on the table?

Mature men are in and out of the barbers in a flash....15 minutes does me. Women on the other hand seem to spend hours at their hairdresser!!

Yes, BsAs barbers are very fast. But even if yours stays completely booked, @4 people per hour, he’s making less than housekeepers, who don’t have shop overhead.

In blue dollar terms, he’s making about $12/hr, IF he works constantly with no breaks. It’s insane.

He converted his front room into his shop so no overheads. Cleaners here certainly don't earn anywhere near what you say BA cleaners earn. Think the going rate is more like 600 pesos an hour.

UK Man , full head of fair here!

No 2 razor cut , so its an easy one for them and an eyebrow trim every second month.

Cleaners out this way are getting 350 an hour , probably increasing to 375/400 next month.

Much better than the 12 quid an hour they are charging in Glasgow right now.

Yip my good lady pays a lot more than me but a lot less than people in UK or USA.
