As a retired teacher and head teacher I really admire her. I have seen a few students that have gone on to be high flyers but her confidence and drive is totally outstanding for a person her age. Plus, she is giving speeches to world leaders in a language other than her first language. Yes, I agree she can seem annoying, but her presence and achievements are remarkable. How were all of us at her age?
I do agree with Northerner about Greta’s confidence, drive, linguistic abilities, and achievements. How did we compare at her age? How do we compare now?!
But just as it is valid to criticize adults, it is valid to disagree with teenagers on the world stage. I don’t think she does her cause any favors by mocking the world leaders who at least TRY, right alongside those who don’t.
I think she is a puppet, maybe a plant by the very people who deny climate change. Get a loud kid to put pressure on them is better than being forced into real change.

She irritates the hell out of me, but if that's what it takes for the climate change lobby to get their word across, then so be it.
On the other hand, whilst I'm not a total climate change denier, I do firmly believe in the Earth going through its cycles and those cycles move extremely slowly.

Nah, I was joking. I do not particulalry like her and I think the media has built her up while those with the real power to make changes generally ignore her.
What I do not doubt is her cause. Climate change is real and while Splinter correctly points out the Earth goes through cycles and is doing so again (with absolute disregard for living organisms by the way), there is no doubt we are contributing to it, worsening it, and maybe prematurely causing it.
