    Mercado Libre

Interesting to see someone is importing the UK/Irish draught guinness can

But would you pay 25 mil for it?

the traditional can is just under 4 mil here and you can get offers most weeks.

Does anyone know how I can get teabags sent to us? Has anyone tried?

    At what cost?

We rely on visits from family and friends...

Never tried again after I ordered tea bags from the UK years ago and customs impounded them. Might be easier now but I won't be testing it out.

I was tempted to use grabr to have some face products brought over from the US. But between the platform's fee and the "mule" compensation, it was $20 more on a $40 product, so I passed. I will wait to be in Europe later this year to order it (it is sold also in Italy).

The same for Vegeta, which no one imports here (why? it is so practical!). I am still using (moderately) the half kilo bag that my husband brought from the UK in 2024.

I have a perm file on my desktop with the shopping list for my next trip.

Supermarket shopping day. Here's hoping they have corn flakes as they've disappeared the last few weeks. Happens quite a lot here for some reason. :cursing:

I have ordered 2x 6-packs of Andes Roja via Mercadolibre because I needed to hit the 65,000 threshold for the free shipping. The convenience of having them delivered to my door was overcast by the fact that they were delivered at 8.30 PM and hot as the sun.

The price was the same as when in the supermarkets when on offer (which is every weekend or so). At the moment, this is my favorite supermarket beer and also my favorite beer in general, since I no longer buy the craft ones (too expensive and I drink more than one a day).

The net price per can was 2,113.66 pesos.

I browsed among the offers in the FULL-SÚPER category as the threshold I was referring to (65,000 pesos) was to get free shipping in that category. This category is different from the simple FULL. Overall, it is not as easy as shopping on Amazon picking among the Amazon Prime products. The threshold is quite high and having different categories doesn't help.

I bought them from this listing:

La Anonima today had Andes Negra sixpacks for under 10000. As I have more than enough I declined to buy more. Last week I got 24 cans of St Wendeler Negra in Dia for 1650 each and two sixpacks of Quilmes stout in Vea for under 10000 each.

    That's a good price for Quilmes stout . I paid 11500 today.

I was getting it at 9 mil in a local chino, but they went up to over 12 mil...

Yes Quilmes is okay and keep its head all the way through. The St Wendeler Negra disappeared for a while but has come back with a new can art. Its usual price is 2500 but they have it on offer every now and again so I fill my boots. It's a decent stout and good value as it comes in 500ml cans. Carrefours Mecklenbuger range of beers are also a decent price. The Dunkel is around 1650 for a 500ml can and comes even cheaper with the OAP discount. Even though its classed as a ''negra'' beer It's more of a dark ale than a stout. Pretty good though as you'd expect from a German beer.

Out of curiosity, how many cans do you drink per day? And do you drink more in summer?

In winter, I can barely get through 2, but in summer and I can (and will) have 3

I just have the one with dinner. Two if I'm at the pipe club meet.

    Today's offers at Vea include.

In this hot weather, especially after a 15km bike ride, a 710ml Imperial Golden and possibly a smaller one to follow.

I call it FRT - fluid replacement therapy!

Another good offer in Vea today. I did get about 6 sixpacks of the stuff in Vea a while ago as it was on an even better offer as the sell buy date was close. Still have two packs left.

Going to have a bash at making whisky fig preserve today. Told the missus to give me the scabby looking figs just incase I make a pig's ear of it.
