• Some Asian travelers from low-vaccine-availability countries like Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, are going to Guam, an American outpost in the Pacific Ocean, for luxury vaccination tourism. Called AirV&V, the idea is to offer Vaccinations and Vacations to people who can afford to fly to Guam and stay in designated upscale hotels long enough to become fully vaccinated.

Guam depends heavily on tourism, an industry which has been hard hit during 2020 and 2021. AirV&V is helping bring tourists in, so this is a win-win for the beautiful island and well-off people. But its location, 6,000 km west of Hawaii, does put the program out of reach for the average Joe.
