Well, this is fascinating. I’ve been too wrapped up in the unfolding story of the US past president’s unstable state, and haven’t been following the misdeeds of Argentina’s leaders.
Splinter , what reasons did these resignees give for bowing out? Why would xtina have pushed them? I need a lot of catch-up.
Headlines "Argentina in crisis''....nowt new there then.
Cristinas probably away getting her hair and nails done.

Told by Cristina to resign. Many believe this is a push for power from her and some even go as far as to describe it as a golpe de estado.

As it could become. Did they give reason for their resignations? If they were enough under her thumb to resign when she said “jump,” wouldn’t she have wanted them to remain in their jobs to subvert from within?
No reasons given. they followed orders

In the US, politicians who quit because they fear losing an election or they know they’re about to be caught in a scandal usually say “I’m leaving because I want to spend more time with my family.”’

Here it's probably to do more with a favour owed/some sort of financial incentive or both!!
Since the mid-term primaries a couple of weeks ago, the government has printed a staggering AR$100 billion to cover its costs, most of which is public spending.
How that will impact on inflation is anyone's guess and the blue dollar rate to day is at $187.
Yikes. Collision course.
Did anyone catch the 'debate' between CABA candidates on TN Dos Voces? And if you have any experience of a meal with two or more Argentines present, you'll know what I mean.
We caught the last 20 mins and it really was like a typical Argentine get together - everyone interrupting each other until at one point all four were shouting at the same time so you didn't know what the heck was going on.
It was pretty much a farce to be honest as they seem incapable of any kind of reasonable debate. Even Adri left the room and went to bed, which is saying something. My ears were were ringing afterwards.
They cant debate properly because they have never been taught how to do it properly.
Something to be said for UK university and school habits and institutions.
What a self-parody and cacophony! Straight out of comic opera, with a soloist who is soon joined by another, then the duet becoming a trio that suddenly bursts in a quartet, each passionately singing and dramatically gesturing to the audience!
Seriously, whether the participants are unfamiliar with the rules of debate or simply choose to ignore them, there should be a moderator strong enough to enforce the rules and allow one candidate at a time to peak. How about muting their microphones until they behave?
The missus had it on while cursing at her laptop....the Argy online banking was giving her a bad time. I retreated to another room for some peace and quiet.
I know I will be accused from being a dinosaur. But the reason why these people, in general, cannot debate with kindness, is because they came suddenly from very low social levels.
And you must have at least two or three generations of families which practices the etiquette of speaking, even controversial questions,
Of course, a very conservative comment. But is what I see,
Carlos - I have seen some great debaters in the UK who come from lower social circles .
That is not an excuse, to be honest.
I feel it's just the Argentine desire to shout louder than the guy next to you . Some of the worst offenders at the TV debate are University graduates with a fairly decent intellect.
But we all saw what happened.
Hopefully, we can see Maximo participate soon.....

Yes, but the lower social circles of the UK are higher than those who are in Argentina. Yes, in the debates they tend to escalate the offense and then no constructive conclusion can be found. Remember the weird qualificative that Alberto Fernandez said about the "formidable" debate of the almost monologue of the teacher K with the student, two weeks ago.
