Well I've been filling in the form and it's been a hell of a lot harder than any days work I ever did in the UK. Been at it for days and I've still not finished it. Good job the missus is much better organised than I am or I'd never finish it. Even then I can only guess some of the stuff they ask for. Like every address I've lived at since I was born as well every employer I've worked for including dates.

Don't they already have that information from your nat ins number?

They know everything you did and where you worked
But they want to bore you and let you walk away from what is yours.

Indeed...I can only imagine it's a 'test' to prove I'm still alive. Hence why I've included a job I was in back in the 70's which only lasted months. Now they want to know how many times I've been to the UK on holiday since moving here...plus dates!!

Which address did you give them?

They ask for the employers address, preferably the one your wages were paid from rather than the one where you were based. I haven't a clue where my wages were paid from in most of my jobs.

No, I mean is your address here or in UK as far as they are concerned?

Definitely here.

Still faffing about filling in the UK pension form. Partly the missus fault as she demanded the evidence be apostilled despite the form saying there was no need. So a lawyer friend took care of it all as they had to send it to Mercedes. That took a couple of weeks due to one thing and another....public holidays mostly. Anyway I've now got everything I need which will be sent to the UK this week by the most secure and speediest method available. I haven't a clue what it is but the wife knows as she's used to doing it.
I reach the magical age early next month so I doubt even if passed it'll be sorted on time to receive the first payment four weeks later....we shall see.

What kind of stuff did they ask you for?
I'm curious because I use my UK address for all tax and pension UK stuff.

They mainly want to see your birth certificate, marriage certificate. Also any NI/Tax contribution receipts if you have them. I tossed them years ago so don't have any. I stopped paying NI and Tax when we moved here. Luckily I had just made enough contributions to qualify for the full pension. At least that's what the frecast says when I did it.

That's my application posted. The missus sent it by the most secure and fastest service on offer which cost 7000 pesos!!!
She's mad!!!

She’s smart. Making sure the pkg with all your paperwork and documents will actually reach the destination is priceless.

She certainly is especially when it comes to anything to do with Correo. With me being so used to the service from Royal Mail I guess I've been spoilt.

Hmmmm.....according to Correo tracking my 'priority' package posted last Wednesday is still in Buenos Aires. At that rate it should arrive in the UK around the middle of September.....this year I hope!!

After a week since posting Correo's tracking shows my 'priority' package as still being in Buenos Aires.
I suspect and ruddy hope it's just a case of it being in transit at a UK airport and the tracking will be updated once those in the UK (who know how a 21st century priority postal service is supposed to work) get their hands on it.

My UK pension application was delivered to its destination on July 5th.

At least it arrived and didn't end up in a black hole...
