DHL-ing passport to the US

Has anyone ever used DHL (or another private service) to send their passport to a foreign country, and back? Any problems?

Were sent my husband's Argentinian passport in Italy, with DHL. This was in 2014 and everything went smoothly.

I have no other experience to report, sorry!

I posted mine to the UK by Argentine mail and had it returned by DHL, all in about seven days.

It worked flawlessly.
