On Thursday evening, during a break in the storm, our neighbour came to us because she'd locked herself out her house. The door had slammed shut in the wind. They have an electric fence which she said was not turned on, so I tried an aluminium ladder, but changed my mind.

In the end I took the ladder up to our terrace, we climbed up onto the roof, then another higher part to get to her terrace over some railings. She's a big girl too but quite agile on the slippery metal. Anyway, she managed to slide over the railings and find a key that she'd hidden.

It was a bit dramatic because her severely disabled two year old child was in the car with her mum and needed her drugs, so fortunately we were able to help.

Lovely sunny 24c day which is hot enough for me.

However I see the weekly storms are to arrive on Thursday. Here's hoping they're not as bad as the last lot.

Nice view of a Lan Cargo 767 on its way to Santiago in the garden this morning. 30C today which I wasn't keen on. To be even hotter tomorrow.

How did you know it was a Lan Cargo 767?

    Well spotted anyway.

Just as well we invited Ines and Oscar for asado tonight as the weekend weather isn't looking too good. Yet more storms are forecast to arrive tomorrow as well as Sunday.

After some light rain earlier the beefy thunderstorms arrived half an hour ago. 8mm of rain so far.

Been dull and raining here most of the day. Thankfully, apart from one prolonged period the rain's not been too heavy with a total of 20mm so far. Only 16c which is quite a drop in temperature compared to most days this week.

It's actually been rather enjoyable sitting inside doing sod all. Even the dogs don't want to go out.

Despite all the storm warnings not a drop of rain fell overnight or so far today. They had said to expect +60mm of rain which has now been changed to 5mm. Thank gawd for that.

Little bit of rain last night.

Heavy for ten minutes, then a mild drizzle.

Now it's cloudy and about 22c , but it feels hotter though.

Overcast and 21c here but the sun's now trying to come out. So I suspect the temperature will shoot up soon as it comes out.

Yesterday's 34c was horrendous. When the missus suggested we go for a healthy walk in the afternoon sun I couldn't believe she was being serious. So I sarcastically suggested our route take us past the hospital as that's where I'd end up in this heat. To be fair she hadn't been outside so had no idea how hot it was.

Might even be hotter today.
