The rain's gone off here after dropping another 3.3mm. Still very cloudy and muggy.

We saw some spectacular storm clouds in the distance last night with big flashes of lightning. Thankfully they stayed away from here.

The weather seems to have settled down again with nowt but sun and blue sky this morning. Touch of autumn tomorrow with it struggling to get into the 20's during the day and could even be as low as 9c tomorrow night. However, it's supposed to get bloody hot again by the end of the week more's the pity!!

No more rain until the weekend, thank goodness. Our roof needs finishing.

In Scotland it just means it's a bit windy.

Only 9c here when dawn broke so I certainly felt the drop in temperature when I opened the back door to let the dogs out. They didn't hang about outside for long either.

    The rain forecast keeps changing....

Any idea what will really happen?

    Meanwhile it's 34c and a thermal sensation of 39.5c.

The forecast on a couple of well known weather sites was for the odd afternoon storm bringing 2mm of rain.

When in actual fact the thunderstorms started over three hours and have so far dropped 32mm of rain on us and it's still raining!! At least the temperature's dropped to 21c.

Yip , and those weather sites are telling me it's sunny outside and there has been no rain today.

    Still thunder and storms outside....

Still the noise of thunder about but at least the rain's stopped. Even got some blue sky. Rain total is 35mm and it's a fresh feeling 22c.

Sun's out and it's now 28c. The centre of the capital seems to have escaped the rain we got.

Can understand the weather apps today.

    Both say we are 31-32c

But our house thermometer indicates 23.

    Can't work it out.

It's certainly in the low twenties...

When I have a doubt , I check on the car tem gauge and that's showing 22.5
