We were supposed to get heavy rain from 7am this morning and so far nothing. Just had a look at Accuweather and they've changed the local area forecast to some light rain up until early afternoon. It's very dull at the mo right enough.

My morning email contained “Your Rain Alert For Palermo,” which is usually a harbinger of a beautiful day.

A howling wind along with thunder and lightning hitting us now....

Got battered by very large hailstones. Now eased off and getting brighter. Hearing the bomberos siren going off so something has happened.

We have already had some scattered rain and it is windy. I think it is going to rain a great deal today!

I hesitate to tell this, but I am visiting family in Alabama, and we are drinking tea on the balcony overlooking the large lake, enjoying the sunny early summer morning. Don’t hate me.

Glad you didn't say 'Don't hate on me.'

I enjoy hail storms until they reach golf ball size. Fortunately they only got to marble size today. It was the wind that preceded them that frightened me....big girls blouse!!

Our winters are not so cold, at least in Buenos Aires latitude. therefore no concern about the beginning of this season.
Even best, it helps the city to be "more european"
than it is.

Indeed. Most of my Scottish clothing has been lying in a suitcase for eleven years. Even some of the winter days here are warmer than many a Scottish summer day.
