Gee, I learned to read with the Dick and Jane books, but never realized their psychic transrelational gender modes were underlying factors that undoubtedly spilled over to their interactions with (gender-free) Baby and “Funny, funny” dog Spot.

Thank you, GlasgowJohn . We appreciate your holiday greetings.
I remember going to Kansas on Libertador in 2005 when we were living in Las Cañitas, not far away. At that time they had amazing happy hours, with copas of Chandon Extra Brut for 75 cents US, and spinach/artichoke dip with tortilla chips for even less! Today, well, NO. But a nice memory! -

We spent 900 pesos today
2 Aperol Spritz for the boss . One draught beer for me 'and a flat bread with prawns for prelu0nch snack.

We have a 9 day break in Punta del Este prior to the Holidays. An we only get back on te 23rd - so not a lot of time to stock the cupboards.
We get away before the prices go up ..can you tell i am Scottish?

When you put it in perspective that's not a lot more than a decent B&B in Hereford, where we normally stay.
Between £55 and £75 a night, depending on the room. No sea views of course, but there is cider.

This is a pretty decent complex two blocks from the beach . Good pool area , kids entertainment , restaurants . Great view of the River . OK , no cider but plenty of wine and beer....
Photos and proper report to follow.

Will you take Buquebus or fly, GlasgowJohn ? Or, if driving, how long will it take you to reach Punta del Este?
Will the town be awake in anticipation of holiday visitors, or still dormant? We were there at the end of October a few years ago, and were surprised that so many places were still boarded up and padlocked. Cold, too, but a month can make a big difference in the weather there. -

We are open to renting a place in UY for our holidays. It must be a decent place that accepts Serafina the cat.
I have seen properties on the Argentinian Coast but they are either very spartan or big, fancy and expensive (they are for 8-10 people).
We'd like to move there for the season, like we used to do in Mar del Plata. We have a car, so we are considering small towns, too.

Then we continue to Punta the next morning.
We get the ferry back from Montevideo direct to Bs As.
It will be fairly quiet but we expect mots places will be open.

It sounds like a great pre-Christmas getaway!

Looks like quite a haul! Now they’ll have plenty of room to take the board back to your sister, so it’s a great international trade deal (assuming no tariffs were imposed by either you or your brother in law).

Yes my niece said my sister will like it....too ruddy bad if she doesn't!!
They're fairliy cramming a lot in during their stay. So far they've done most of the attractions in the capital plus they're going for a day visit to the Iguazu falls then and another day to Colonia before going home on Wednesday.
