We're looking to sell our car and buy another, however any form of trade description laws don't seem to exist in this country.
Browsing through Mercadolibre, most cars will be for sale at a given price, but that's not the cash price at all, it's a deposit and you'll have to make up the rest with either a trade-in, cash or finance. In my opinion it's very deceptive.

I asked one dealer what the actual price was and this was their reply:
I have noticed this too, it is confusing as feck. Just put the damn price.
It's not just cars. Buying a ruddy sliced loaf in the supermarket can end up being a mathematical challenge.
We've bought 2 cars since coming to live here permanently. First one was new but used the latest was brand new. The missus does all the business as she knows how things works here. They were bought from the Ford and Renault franchise garages which probably helped as she had nothing but positive things to say. No surprise really as sales people soon get the message she doesn't suffer fools or shady business practices gladly.
