It was reported yesterday that actress Tanya Roberts had died, but today her publicist conformed that the 65 year old is alive but in hospital following a fall at her California home.
She must be greatly relieved to hear the news and I wish her a speedy recovery!

Yes, we all agree that death is part of the continuum. What we don’t seem to all agree on is how to discuss it. Affecting some kind of misplaced idea of gentility, many people avoid saying “he died,” and substitute some fairly dumb sounding expressions. Brings to mind the Monty Python Dead Parrot skit.
Death is part of life, so I agree, we should stop saying "passed away", its over sentimental in reality. I know that people have feelings for their loved ones, but what to do? We can't stop death from happening
I tend to use ''passed away'' when it's someone human or animal I have had feelings for.
I do like to use ''kicked the bucket'' for someone I haven't known personally.

Honestly, I have to say that “kicked the bucket,” “ate the green weenie,” and bought the ranch” are no less offensive to me than “passed away,” “went to God,” “slipped away,” “Is sleeping with the angels,” “passed on,”or simply “passed.”

And in American English, we say “To each his own.” Funny how that expression is reversed as it crosses the Atlantic!
