William Reed, who as a 21-year-old 1st Hussars gunner rode the Holy Roller Sherman tank from Juno Beach on D-Day until the Second World War in Europe ended in 1945, has died at age 97. He was the last survivor of the five-member crew of the iconic Canadian tank, now a memorial in London's Victoria Park.
