During my sailing voyage from Wales to Spain a few years ago, we were met by a school of dolphins just off Baiona as we approached the headland.
What a sight!

What a sight!
What a welcome!
August 2010 , down in the Valdes peninsula.
Quite exciting to be so close to the whales.
You took that photo, GlasgowJohn ? How far from the whale were you? What kind of whale was it? About how long was it?
Yes , one of my photos!
We were on a boat about ten yards from the whales!
Southern right whale or the Tohora I think is the species in Valdes - there's a population of about 2,000 during the whale watching season.
