Not good news at all. The exchange rate added to the inevitable inflation are a commerce killer. Is anyone reading any real suggestions for pulling the economy out of its tailspin?
There are likely to be a lot more casualties before the Pandemic is over...
It looks like the first Falabella to close is my local one at Tortugas Mall.
I always found it to be a decent retailer with moderate prices.
Bought a kettle and a toaster just before the lockdown
Yes, I always liked them. There really isn’t anyone in second place, is there?
Not an exhaustive list , but thats what I can see so far.
How many more will be added before the end of this year?
One positive note for people in or near CABA: we had email from our friend and waiter at Don Julio, which definitely HAS opened for outdoor dining, even in this cold season, and their demand is greater than the number of socially-distanced seats they have.

Here's an updated list
Was nothing wrong with Falabella and it was often surprisingly affordable for branded clothes. It reminded me more of stores in other countries where you may have relatively cheap options (for example, 2 chinos for X amount of pesos) but those clothes would be of solid enough quality to use. I am accustomed to this in the UK, where if you do buy a sweater in Peacocks or something it will be a decent purchase and not fall apart after a week. So often here affordable clothes are of terrible quality.
The amount of airlines leaving Argentina is hugely problematic, it's going to make air travel from this country very expensive in the future. And, when you look at flights in and out in the future and you see a shorter list of flights it just makes the country feel more isolated.
I have yet to receive confirmation of this:

In December, the airline Norwegian Airlines sold the operation of its domestic routes to its competitor JetSmart, which also absorbed its staff. Thus, the Norwegian company stopped flying to national destinations under the low cost mode but will keep the Buenos Aires-London route in force.
