Telepase will be compulsory from 14th September at city road tolls (peajes)

Telepase, an electronic tag that you fix to your vehicle will be obligatory for tolls within CABA from next week which is a move I welcome and I hope they roll it out to the rest of the country so that this whole nightmare exercise can be cashless.

I asked for one to be posted to me weeks ago but it never arrived and I have asked again with the option to collect it from a designated Telepase agent up the road.

In fact, now that I remember, I tried to get one with Pim, the app that doesn't work...

There will also be fines for people who don't have a Telepase and try to get through tolls after that date, surprise surprise...

Update...

I went to Esquina de Los Pneumaticos only to be told that they don't have any Telepase discs and furthermore, there aren't any anywhere else. No surprise there.

I'll go back to an actual toll station because on Saturday I noticed that there were kiosks set up for that very purpose and I rode past all of them thinking I could get one somewhere else.

Wrong!

Lesson learned: when you see something in Argentina and you think you'll need it, just grab it.

After doing the VTV (MOT in UK) on the bike tomorrow, I'll be searching for Telepase outlets at the various toll stations around BsAs.

Should be fun.

Apparently so as I booked a slot last week.

Passed the VTV just fine but it took over an hour which is much longer than usual.

In the queue..

It's a lot faster if you've already done the business online, which I had done. I got the sticker and was away in less than five minutes.

Most of them took around fifteen minutes.
