Do you play these games with a keyboard or do you have a joystick or game pad?
The farther I went was Super Mario on the first Nintendo, but when the computer room was made available, I bought a USB game pad to play some of nintendo's games. It was fun, but not as fun as when I was 10 years old. I eventually finished Kirby's adventures and that was it.

I only play on PC, so it's keyboard and mouse. However if it's a game or sim involving flying I now have a joystick which can be used in combination with a keyboard and mouse.

Splinter ... I checked on the Corsair keyboards. Do you have the wired keyboard and mouse? I ran across the K55 Harpoon RGB keyboard and mouse combo.
Is this anything like yours? https://www.amazon.com/Corsair…ir+k55%2Caps%2C186&sr=8-2

The keyboard looks like an updated version of mine and the mouse I have is the Corsair M65 RGB Elite which is an excellent gaming mouse.
I can't fault Corsair kit at all. It's very high quality.

What's the main advantage of a gaming mouse, besides ergonomics? Are they more reactive or have more functions?
The farther I went from a standard mouse was a Logitech with the scrolling wheel that scrolled also horizontally to move across Excel spreadsheet.
Do you use you gaming mouse also as a generic mouse or is it exclusively for gaming?

I use it for everything.
