Have never seen cars for sale with water bottles on the roofs! Maybe they don’t like Palermo and stay away?

In argentina the water bottle on roof of car is a known signal that the car is for sale. No for sale sign is needed. https://dreamgolive.wordpress.com/2012/06/08/so-…r-in-argentina/

As aficionado points out they are present in several barrios selling cars. But would you buy a second-hand car from a gitano who doesn't have a commercial office?

Right. Not something I would do. Also common to hear stories of car buying swindles. Hard to know if true or just typical stereotype or prejudice.

Very common in this town. I've no idea if they're gypsies or not though.

Right, I was not specific enough. First, the bottles are known sign in Argentina of an automobile for sale regardless the sellers background or group affiliation. Second point, which I originally posted, is that used cars, sometimes seen as a group of bottled covered cars, are often mentioned as an industry where Gitanos are involved.

Fascinating. Maybe the 21st century version of the hobo signals that used stacked stones, in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

This took place in Villa Adelina, Vicente Lopez and the poor man died instantly. His wife was with him on the bike.

    Sick to my stomach.

It is really disheartening to read these news. How much is a life worth in Argentina?

Nor the victims' life, nor the killer seem to have any. The victims', obviously were worthless in the eyes of the killer, less worth than a motorcycle (I am pretty sure the value of the vehicle was very little) and his own life was even worth risking for such a cheap prey.

One has to 'hope' he was on drug or something, because I can't bear myself to think why so many criminals do accomplish these crimes and take on lives so carelessly.

This is the kind of news you don't read about in Europe that make me question our life here. We can shrug our shoulders and tell ourselves "it was in another neighborhood", "I don't have a bike, anyway" but the truth is that it could happen to anyone over anything.

Very true, serafina . Splinter , what, if anything, is known about the crime scene the day before?

    This really is alarming.

Born and bred. We don't have upstairs but she does come up on the roof whenever I'm checking it out. ^^

Ever heard of a relay attack? It's when criminals clone the electronic car key by retransmission and then steal the car, usually silently.

    This is very disturbing.

A policewoman has been suspended for her provocative TikTok and Only Fans videos while wearing her uniform.

    But can she tackle crime?

There are some very pretty policewomen going about here. When we were involved in a road accident several years ago I still fondly remember the girl with figure hugging uniform who attended the scene. As my missus was the driver she did all the talking while I stood back and did the admiring. The gun and handcuffs she had hanging from her waist didn't half make my mind wander.

    “Provocative???”

I believe that in general, Argentine society is quite open minded and certainly not prudish as other countries. It's not unusual to see female petrol station attendants and policewomen in very tight fitting uniforms, accentuating their curves and I'm pretty sure they enjoy the attention.

However the top brass at the city police consider her photos and videos to be unseemly and improper which damage the prestige of the force, according to reports.

It's also said that she will probably be reinstated, but anyway, judge for yourself.
