    Wearing the mask does take some getting used to. When we were in the city, I grew accustomed to it and at some point it quit bothering me. But after 7 weeks out in the woods, when I had to wear one to a doctor appointment, I felt I was suffocating. Just not used to it now. But grateful for it!

  • It was full summer when we left the city. Here we are 1500 km north, so the temperature is more bearable. There’s no denying that it’s more uncomfortable in hot weather.

    The ones I have are pretty thick. I shall get a much thinner/lighter one for the hot weather.

  • Apparently you need at least 2 layers of 100% cotton. If you can find one with an inner layer of electrostatic fabric (I can’t find any), that is supposed to really boost the protection.


    At least that’s the theory today. With luck the body of knowledge will continue to evolve.

    One that's thin and cheap will do me....thin should be easy to get here not so sure about getting it cheap though.
