I heard some stories about negative tests being ignored to increase the positivity rates.
Surely not true....
Is the Indec now involved in virus data collection?

What a f***king mess........

What a f***king mess........
Translation: they have no idea what they are doing, where they are, nor where they are going. No one who has the decency to step down no matter how low they went.

This explains much of what is wrong with the official figures - the negative tests were not being recorded. Frankly I don't believe a single word this regime says about anything at all. Nothing.

This is one of the many MANY reasons no thinking person trusts the numbers. Or anything else this bunch says.
Beyond frustrating.

I've just lost a day, thinking that today was Friday and wondering why there were so many cyclists about, the post offices shut and no courier enquiries.
It wasn't until I got home off a quick job that Adri pointed out that today is Saturday. Seriously, it was Friday for me.
Anyway, at least I can have a beer tonight.

Ah! That explains why the bar was closed last night. Lucky you! Cheers!🍻
I am unable to keep track of the days now, either. And I even stop to think which month we are in. To help us remember the day, before a whole bunch of them slide down a chute and land in a jumble at our feet, we are starting to ritualize certain days. Public Television mysteries from the BBC on Sundays. Champagne with lunch on Wednesdays. Grilling on Fridays. (Suggestions?)

Not riding the bike days?

That’s a good one. Little ambiguity there.
I’m thinking of reviving Laundry Day each Monday, instead of just washing as needed. In 19th and early 20th century Louisiana, Laundry Day was such a firm tradition that red beans & rice, a dish that could be cooked in vast iron pots and needed little tending while laundry was being done, came to be the standard Monday meal. I wouldn’t mind having some of THAT every Monday, either.
So now, how do we distinguish Tuesdays and Thursdays?

Grits on Tuesdays and Chicken Vindaloo on Thursdays?

My husband said that Tuesday was always his mother’s ironing day. I say no to that one.
Grits on Tuesdays, I certainly can go for. But what the HAYULL is Chicken Vindaloo? Sounds like it incorporates wine and voodoo in the recipe.

Friday is the day for Fish....
Only a catholic thing?

Good suggestion, @ GlasgowJohn. Easy to remember because of tradition. And we love salmon, tuna, flounder - should have them at least once a week. OK: Friday is now Fish Day!
Edit: add to those, merluza, cheeks of adabejo. Shrimp. Fried catfish with lots of lemon..

OK. Looked it up, and it looks scrumptious. I’d never attempt anything with over 20 ingredients, but I’ll admit if someone else whipped it up, I’d happily tuck into it.

Oh great. Only one person in that whole superspreader group photo is wearing a mask over both mouth and nose. Why is this so hard?

Is this cause for optimism?
In Argentina there have been 1.5million cases reported, 42,000 deaths and 1.4million people have recovered from Covid, at least according to the health ministry.
On the other hand, some are predicting a return of quarantine sooner rather than later due to the new increase in reported cases. Is it weather related?

I receive emails by concerned friends/acquaintances since the numbers of Argentina have surpassed those of most Latin American countries. Yet, I fail to see the same state of despair observed in the more modern and technologically and medically advanced Europe. I too thing/thought the weather factored in, however in Brazil and in California they didn't do so well.
We all have seen the pictures of the mass entombment in Brazil, so I tend to think that it was/id bad over there. Is Argentina so good to make it look as business as usual?
In Italy, the prime minister locked down the whole country from Dec 24 to Jan 6, when the holiday season is over. They are allowing family celebrations with up two guest families.
Whereas here I have no heard such limit. Indeed, La Nación has also a risk calculation tool

The Argentine ambassador to China, Luis Kreckler has been sacked for jetting off to a luxury island (Hainan) for a break, when his task was to complete the vaccination deal with the Chinese government by the end of the year.
Ah, but did he pay for the luxury break himself or did he put it on his expenses?
