Big rumour from my mates at Ezeiza is that the government is seriously looking to open the borders to people who are fully vaccinated..
Watch this space.
That would be amazing! And then I guess we will see which countries allow people to enter from Argentina - -

Heard this morning from a work colleague of his that a doctor in Edinburgh, who had been fully vaccinated has come down with Covid 19.
So they now plan on giving us Sputniks awaiting our second jab the choice of either mixing our vaccines or waiting longer for the Sputnik 2 which they assure us will arrive in August....but which year? The missus and I are both undecided as to which will work best.
Then there will be the booster which they're already dishing out in the UK. Think I'll just toss a coin and hope for the best.
It might be worth the time to do some googling to find out what experts are saying about mixing the two vaccines vs having two shots of the same one.

I know an Edinburgh based medical Professor who specialises in the respiratory system. He has told me the mixing of first and second vaccines trial results has so far proved positive. However I have admit it's more a case of me not trusting the procedures carried out here.
Was the professor referring specifically to the Russian and Chinese vaccines?
No...

This is the unfortunate reality of the situation when looking to open borders. Vaccines do not stop COVID spreading, they just stop the severity of it if you happen to get infected. It seems that the situation from day 1 is mostly unchanged... we have to decide eventually to live with this disease and open everything again, or live permanently in this new reality we have been in for 16 months.
I’ve lost track: what percentage of the country has now received both doses?
I've just received a message that my second vaccination is for next Saturday, but I'm not sure if it's Sputnik or not.
Soon find out.
Is there a feeling in Argentina that Sputnik is better than Sinopharm, or Vice versa?
Mine is going to be AstraZeneca or Moderna for the second jab, because there is no more Sputnik, at least for a while.
I'm concerned about AZ because of the thrombosis effects some have suffered and I once had an AVT - ancillary vein thrombosis in my arm.
I agree you need to request Moderna, and be sure to tell them your medical history.
I will!
It's also emerged that many towns are now going to insist on vaccination certificates before anyone can visit official departments as a way of forcing people to vaccinate.
I'm not comfortable with that.
At this point, I am feeling that whatever will get people to be vaccinated is the way to go. In the US, so much progress had been made until the Delta variant appeared, and now the hospitals are hitting consecutive daily high records, so the country is in worse shape than last year at this time. It is my firm belief that people’s “freedom” not to be vaccinated ends at the point where it intersects with my freedom not to be infected.
What respect would we have had for our great-grandparents if they had insisted on their freedom not to inoculated against Smallpox?
Oh - that wouldn’t come into question, since we wouldn’t BE HERE.
I don't have a problem getting the jab, as long as I know that the competent authority is competent. I've read third party articles about the Sputnik and of course the mix and max second jab and they do appear to be effective.
On the other hand, there is a huge group of people who feel the state has had quite enough free reign*, a point of view I agree with, but not at the expense of getting infected or infecting others.
* A prime example of this is when the police told me, sorry, ordered me, to move ten meters away from the river bank last year or face arrest. That was absolutely fucking bizarre and is a perfect example of authoritarianism gone too far. This country has an obsession with that kind of behavior in all walks of life, even filtering down to the clerk level.

One of my wife's friends who got the Sputnik after us has also been informed to go. We've heard sweet fuck all!
Yip . i got advice of my second dose appointment as well.
A week from tomorrow in the athletics stadium at Garin - I get the jab and do a quick 400m quick 400m to show I am OK.
My doctor freinds think it will be Moderna as well.
There are no Sputniks available and AZ is in short supply at the moment.
