Mercadolibre certainly knows how to tighten the screws and punish your reputation for not shipping on time.

In the last two years I've shipped three products over the one day limit. This often happens when someone orders on a Friday but ML don't seem to take this into account.

My reputation, which many use as a yardstick for reliability, has fallen from green to yellow - shock horror - and in order to rectify this, I need an additional 27 sales to put me back to where I was.

    They break it down thus:

    No brindas buena atención

Recibiste 3 ventas con reclamo, que representan un 2,43% del total. Asegúrate de bajar al 2%.

    ¿Cómo se compone ese 2,43%?

    • 66,67% el producto es defectuoso
    • 33,33% otro tipo de reclamos

All issues were rectified, but still they hammer you, or at the very least, a machine does.

I don't have a huge turnover of products - 123 sales in 5 years - so it's quite a stretch to hit that target.

Mercadolibre has become the very useful tool that I love to hate.

My husband and I have both a ML account. If you need a positive review, we’d be happy to help. However, I am not sure this can be done at no cost for both as and you. Let us know if we can help!

    Thanks serafina

You'd probably have to buy something and I usually put $50 DVDs on my ad list for that very purpose, with $50 being the minimum price for anything advertised.

By the 12th of July you'll need to finish an account verification which I did yesterday. If you don't, you won't be able to continue using the account.

To be honest, I was left with my jaw touching the ground when I was asked to scan both sides of my DNI ID card and then carry out a series of fucking facial gestures on my phone.

I absolutely loathe this level of privacy invasion and with Mercadolibre working so closely with the state in terms of taxes, tracking and God knows what else, they've got you by the short ones.

Mercadolibre is my bête noire, but a necessary evil in what I do.

It's the same with the AFIP app.

I certainly don't want that app on my phone as I leave all that torture to Adri. She is an accountant after all.

I just installed the app to get a clave fiscal to be able to request a document online. Basically, everything you can do online, it has to go through AFIP. Compared to Argentina, the US is really the Far West.

I refuse to use ML now unless it's for something I can't get here....which is very rarely the case. Some of the sellers have really been taking the piss during the virus yet ML do fuck all about it. Some shyster is selling a pouch of tobacco for 390 and charging 620 pesos for delivery. Even when you order 5 of them the delivery shoots up to 1357 pesos instead of being free. More 'reputable' seller is selling the same tobacco for 480 and 360 peso delivery....or free if you order 5.

    It's a farce.

I'm not sure if the seller has any control over the delivery charges, UK Man

Crazy...but there's nothing about how ML operates that would surprise me.

    No way!

It's standard practice here as it's robot controlled.

On Sunday I bought a flight joystick on Mercadolibre for AR$11,000 with free next day delivery and to be fair, it actually turned up at 2130 on Monday night which was very impressive.

The new Microsoft Flight Simulator has generated huge demand for joysticks everywhere and so, combined with Argentines' love of ripping you off and taking advantage of any situation, the price for the same article was $11,800 the next day. Today it's $13,000 and others are selling the very same joystick for $25,000, which is around US$300 for a US$40 product.

It also appears that they are all sold out on Amazon and other outlets such is the demand and it's said that the new simulator will generate around US$2billion in PC hardware sales in terms of upgrades and peripherals.

But Mercadolibre leads the way in prices detached from reality.
