    From The Telegraph -

Exclusive: Government scientist Neil Ferguson resigns after breaking lockdown rules to meet his married lover

Prof Ferguson allowed the woman to visit him at home during the lockdown while lecturing the public on the need for strict social distancing

The scientist whose advice prompted Boris Johnson to lock down Britain resigned from his Government advisory position on Tuesday night as The Telegraph can revealhe broke social distancing rules to meet his married lover.

Professor Neil Ferguson allowed the woman to visit him at home during the lockdown while lecturing the public on the need for strict social distancing in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus. The woman lives with her husband and their children in another house.

The epidemiologist leads the team at Imperial College London that produced the computer-modelled research that led to the national lockdown, which claimed that more than 500,000 Britons would die without the measures....

a little like the constant teaching the Argentinian people to stop saving in dollars and instead go for pesos.....at the same time as basically all politicians themselves save in dollars!

Or telling people to look at the social aspect and accept salary pay cuts, at the same time as you are raising your own salary........

    Hahaha

Hey Rice , this was about a week ago .

He had just completed a 14 day self isolation , so he probably thought he was immune....

But what a way to get found out that you're shagging your married lover.

Right. Like realizing you’re on a security camera under a spotlight, being live-streamed to the whole country.

    Only decent for sport nowadays.

Its political coverage varies from day to day . Some good journalists but others are very poor.

To be honest, I rarely watch the news any more, especially Arg news.

I only ever used to buy it on a Thursday as it had a great travel section back then. For my daily train commute the free Metro did me. That was back in the day before phones became smart.

But surely you do read the news?

My favorite British paper is the Sunday Times. Which newspapers do you natives prefer?

I read the news online, yes, but I now tend towards non-CVD stories to brighten up the day.

    Understandable.

For US citizens right now, it is imperative to follow covid as well as general news because the elections are less than 6 months away, and we need to know the extent of the cronyism and corruption before voting.

This is going off track I admit, but what's your take on the elections? There's no way Biden beats Trump, right?

I have also given up on Argie TV news . So bloody repetitive and so political . I just want to find out what is happening, not listen to boring journalists

Written web sites are much easier . You can pick what you want and read as much as you need to.

News here is opinion based, constant talking heads (non-expert ones, by the way), and just plain old gossip and conjecture. It's garbage TV and journalism.

It's like if you took housemates from celebrity Big Brother and made a news show around them.

Semigoodlooking .....it's exactly how it is.......I don't know how often I'm being presented with FULLY wrong facts, numbers or totally misleading stuff......it's more the rule than the exception here!

The news channels related to the cabezas de termo are some of the worst ones!

But at a certain time it gets so absurd that it gets funny......

GlasgowJohn has it right. I don’t know if it was auto fill in or wishful thinking on my part, but clearly the elections are in Nov 2020, not 2019.

If the American public cares anything about the country’s future, they will remember the dumpster fire these past 3.5 years have been, and will vote for a sane leader instead of the one who has ruined the country’s reputation while gutting the institutions that make the government work.

If the American people again vote for the person who is over his head right now, then as Argentines often say, they will have the government they deserve.

Which will happen? I honestly don’t have enough faith in the public to make a prediction.
