Mu thoughts, exactly, when I read it in the news. The day after I left Milan, a mentally ill man at fire to a dustbin in Milan’s airport. Good timing!

That is QUITE a haul! You bring tech supplies to Argentina; we bring wooden wine crates and Malbec home from Argentina. Besides teabags and KitKats, does anyone else have a repeat theme for their smuggling?

Andreani delivered 6 litres of Yancanelo EV olive oil to us this morning. The missus buys it direct from Mendoza.

In the US they are adding an option to be able to fly even if you forgot your identification. Just pay extra $45 each trip.
TSA to Charge Travelers Without REAL ID an Extra Fee to FlyStill don't have a REAL ID? You'll soon have to pay an extra charge to get through airport security.www.frommers.com -
I’m pretty sure you still have to have your identification in order to get on a plane. You just have to pay the fee if you haven’t upgraded to a “Real ID,” which just requires some marginally enhanced paperwork. It has been in the offing for a few years, but the deadline has finally dropped.

Oh right. So their old state drivers licence is sufficient plus this per trip fee.

My wife's son has been planning a six month Asia trip, ending in Australia for the last year or so and was due to fly Emirates via Dubai to Tokyo next Tuesday.
Clearly that's no longer possible, so he's now flying Mexico/Tokyo, we think.

Did he get his cash back from Emirates?

No refund but he can use the ticket for the same or similar flight until October - the 12 months since he bought it. Better than nothing.

What a trip! Is this for work, or all vacation?

He works remotely on his laptop, so it doesn't matter where he is. Also he decided to do this Japan, S. Korea and Australia six month trip before the burdens of getting hitched catch up with him. He has our full support!

Way to go!! Japan has been on my bucket list for a few years now. An unenthusiastic husband and two fighting cats make it stay on the bucket list for even longer.
I spent a month in Abu Dhabi right after the pandemic, and I have family living in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. So far, so good. But the first days of supporting messages and texts are easier to manage. I'd like to see their posts a few months from now, when they can't take a plane to flight back to Italy for they summer holidays.

Japan is one of the very few countries left I would like to visit.

It looks like Emirates will give him a refund, which is good news!
Anyway, we were up at 04.30 yesterday as his flight with Air Mexico was leaving at midday and we didn't want to take any chances with General Paz. In the end it only took about 30 mins and we arrived at 07.30, so plenty of time for him to spend with his mum. Ezeiza was very quiet at that time of day, but soon got busy by 9 am, but no flights to the Middle east. Check-in was fast at only 15 mins and we left him at 10 am with the return journey home of over an hour.
His flight is Mexico City/Monterrey/Tokyo with around 23 hours flying time, so he's going to be a little tired when he gets there!
