It's Argentina.....far worse than that happens here.
We have a contact in the Ministry of Transport who must have an idea on what's happening....he might refuse to tell us right enough.

Yes i am sure there is.. Still though the only country without regular flights out the whole world..not ideal !

To what end is all this bullshit?
Argentina is now thrown in with Venezuela as the only countries with borders closed for such an extended period, added to which there appears t be total silence on this from the regime.

Is the opposition demanding information and explanation? Or did they just slink off after the election?

Opposition in Argentina can't do much when they are not in power. They just speak with the press, but have no legal way to stop the government in charge to do what they want.

Macri nipped off to France and Switzerland , just because he could...
He also did a quick trip to PARAGUAY in the private plane of the ex president of Paraguay who some people say is a fairly well known tobacco smuggler . But I am not sure about this......

This sounds like an investigation for UK Man ?
Might be best to keep my mouth shut...I may disappear if they find out I'm publishing their secrets.
The situation here is farcical. We all wear masks for 6 months and it seems not to have made a jot of difference. I suspect the Unions have had a major say in how the government have handled the lockdown.

We are now being told that the stricter the lockdown the more deaths occur..Peru has one of the strictest lockdowns going and over 800 000 cases..This is repeated over and over ..I di have a graph but cant find it....
And yes masks are next to useless and extremely bad for your own health and immunity system

Looks like the Transport Minister announced that flights can restart on 12th October .....
But maybe almost definitely the 15th October , depending on the figures...
Only in Argentina.....
Domestic and international apparently .. i will believe it when I read the official release.

Interestingly, they still don't offer any plans about coming out of this. We get vague hopes but nothing that says "we plans to do A, then B, to get to C". It's just winging it every couple of weeks. I always imagine Laretta, being the notable team player he is and someone who looks exasperated during the joint conferences, is pulling his hair out. Oh wait.
It's not just flights this uncertainty and bi-weekly "see how it goes" dance is happening to, it's everything. I still think it is good news for the government for the country to stay in this stagnant limbo to avoid facing the economic realities on even terms. And regarding an opposition, the concept is just non-existent in this country although ironically when Macri was in power the CFK mob would not shut up. Now the role is reversed, any peep from a rival and all hell breaks loose.

It looks like the dollar/pesos reality has struck them pretty bad today. Their great move to raise the official dollar of 1% to stimulate the economy has backfired. The official rate went from 79 to 81, and the blue went from 141 to 145. Well done!

Curiously, we just wrote there is no opposition and today the government asked the opposition to 'lower their decibels'.
I am also convinced there is no right wing movement in argentina, they are all leftist, some more, some less, whereas Cafiero is convinced they are on a fast lane to an absolutist right regimen.

Stressful situation for all of these people, some of whom will probably not get their vans and belongings back.

Sir Chandler has an impressive YouTube channel and this flight from Eze to New York in September shows the restrictions now in force.

Not a good sign of Aeroparque flights anytime soon.
Thanks for the video of the BsAs - NYC flight. My first glimpse of the new International terminal at EZE. The gleaming floors and windows reflect the ominous emptiness of the concourse.
As much as I want to get back to Buenos Aires, this video doesn’t make me look forward to the process of getting there.
