Are non living together couples still banned from sharing a portion of fish and chips?

Obviously this was from 2020, but the logic doesn't make sense. How could they possibly tell the difference between couples not living together and casual sexers?
"Oh, we're a couple not living together, so I came over for a quick shag with my beloved and I brought the fish and chips..." one could have said.

I don't even recall reading about such a UK rule in the first place. Even if I had and given the opportunity for some rumpy pumpy. I suspect it would be the last thing I'd be thinking of.
Being happily married the situation wouldn't arise anyway.

Reminds me of that old play:
“No sex, please, we’re British!”

I have no doubts about this

Trying to work out why the statement comes from the US Energy Department?
Health?
Infectious Diseases?
Awaiting with interest a statement from their Chinese counterparts.

All part of a plan to slow down the economies of first world countries maybe....with Russia getting in on the act?
Anything's possible!!

Maybe the theory that it is a deal between USA and China to reduce the world population is correct?

I’ve never read of that theory. More info, please? Why would countries that rely on other countries to buy their products, technology, and ideas want to reduce their markets?

One of the final holdouts in the world, Hong Kong will be lifting its mask mandate tomorrow. (Or today? The International Date Line always confuses -)

There are quite a few conspiracy guys who comment that the whole pandemic was deliberately instigated by big governments, big pharma, and big entrepreneurs such as Gates and the Tesla Boy. Two objectives that they all become richer and that the population of the world falls so that we can all eat.
When one of my wayward cousins shared this with me, I called him out for being a scaremonger.
Now, I really don't know what to think.
The whole Covid virus has disappeared very quickly - it didn't appear at all in some African countries.
WhIle I try and be a sensible level headed Celt , there are some things that haven't been explained.

I still think it escaped from a lab in China. Maybe not intentionally.

That's my way of thinking.

I’m curious: is there any factual proof, or did this come to you because you have special insight you can share?
I’m trying to remain neutral until facts are available. But in general, I’m very skeptical of conspiracy theories with nothing to back them up.
In the US, the people most eager to believe the wildest things about the origin of the virus or the lethal effects of the vaccine or the miracles of ivermectin, are the same people who want to know NOTHING about actual facts/current events, such as the causes of or people behind the first and only insurrection in US history.
This can make a thinking person stop to consider the sources.

No I don't have any special insight to share and I see your finger-pointing in the direction of the ex-president who at one stage was suggesting that we all drink bleach.
But this isn't about that fiasco and I'm open minded, but veering towards the lab leak theory, although we will probably never know the real truth in the same way that don't know what really goes on in China.
That country's cooperation on Covid has been practically zero.
Covid origin: Why the Wuhan lab-leak theory is so disputedThe claim Covid-19 leaked from a Chinese laboratory dates from early in the pandemic. Here's what we know.www.bbc.com -

I’m not throwing shade at people who think a lab leak may have caused the pandemic (although I’m definitely throwing shade at people pushing conspiracy theories about a deliberate leak as part of a USA-China pact designed to kill much of the world’s population).
I just wonder what inspires people to come down on one side or the other.

It's murky water, so perhaps I want to believe it escaped from a lab. Not intentionally either.

I think you’ve put your finger on the whole conspiracy theory thing. We want to believe a certain story, so we do.
