    Time to stop drinking HEINEKEN?

Bill Gates buys €850 million stake in Heineken
The Microsoft billionaire has snapped up a 3.76% stake in Heineken Holding NV, despite admitting he is "not a big beer drinker".

Since he’s a self-professed “not a big beer drinker,” at least he probably made the decision while sober? Unless he IS a big scotch or bourbon drinker.

I've been drinking Andes Negra stout followed by chilled BB Vino Tino with our carry out empanadas dinner. You'd have to be mad to cook inside in this heat!!

Quilmes Doble Malta followed by Finca las Moras Rosado poured over chunks of ice so it's really 50% water.

I then couldn't resist a couple of Capt. Morgans with Coke and loads more ice.

We made ham and salad sandwiches in the end due to the heat, as using the oven would have been too much.

The Quilmes Doble Malta is pretty good. Don't remember having had the Capt. Morgan. I've been eyeing up a bottle of Havana Club 7 years at the mayorista which they're selling for 4500 pesos.

I'm hooked on Morgan because with Coke it has a nice sweet taste and at the moment is costing me $2200.

I have been wanting to try the Aconcagua gin for a while, so when I spotted the 500 ml steel bottle I grabbed it. I have yet to try it. For sale there was also the 1 lt bottle in limited edition, cardamom flavored. However, I can add the cardamom myself. In fact, at my local dietética (Nova chain) there are small kits of herbs and spice to flavor drinks to your taste.

I wish I was skilled enough to make cocktails and drinks, as I enjoy tasting those.

There is a new drink bar that has been recognized for their drinks even outside of Argentina called 3 Mono (Guatemala 4899, C1425 CABA - https://3monos.com.ar/). I went there but I wasn't impressed. Maybe I ordered the wrong stuff. It is ranked the 27th best bar in the world!

We’re just back from a St Patrick’sDay parade-watching party given by friends who live along the parade route. Riders on the many colorful floats threw not only the usual beads, stuffed animals, frisbees, footballs, etc., but also cabbages, onions, carrots, and potatoes (ingredients for an Irish stew). But that’s another story.

On the drinks front, the hosts had a selection of wine and beer as well as a machine that was constantly mixing frozen margaritas. Not an Irish drink, of course, but definitely GREEN. (And nice and cold. Most welcome on a hot day.)

UK Man i thought it was just me. There wasn’t any on Fly Bondage this morning though 🤣

I like a gin and tonic but can't be arsed buying a bottle then having to buy the tonic as well. Hence why I stick to spirits I can drink straight.

I grabbed one about a month ago. The bottle is still here but the gin evaporated very quickly!

    Quite a decent product!

Got a bottle of Hiram Walker in Vea last week that was on offer. It's okay stuff. So was back in Vea today and got another two....around 650 pesos each. Hard to believe it's cheaper than a couple of cans of beer.

Cordero con Piel de Lobo is an excellent wine .

Bottled by Mosquita Muerta Wines - look out for the X sign to see the other brands in the range ...Perro Callejero about 1100 pesos and Pispi ( great name!) about 1600.

Owned by the Millan Family , the biggest private employer in Mendoza ( they have a big supermarket chain)

They also do wine in cans.

It sounds terrible .... but it's not

They have a Rose in a 440ML can - great size, just right for two glasses.

Yes, I have recently read about wine in a can. Why not. A great glass of red and a nice cut of beef. Damn near raw is my choice. But the wine prices are unheard of, I had a prix fix lunch in Paris for two. The bottle of wine was US$100. Only did that once, but it was worth everypenny.
