Probably cheaper than hand sanitiser. Must tell the wife to keep a bottle at the front door.

Picked this one up in Coto yesterday
Somewhere between a Scottish Heavy and and English Bitter

Any good?
Tennants extra, anyone?

On my own for lunch today so i grabbed a couple of beers I bought in Jumbo last weeeknd
From the Arge craft brewery Bierhaus in which is in Martinez / San Isidro.
Scotch Ness claims to be a Scottish style beer and to be honest, it wasn't bad - somewhere between a Scottish Heavy and an English bitter. I would probably repeat the purchase if I got a decent promo
The Volcano IPA was a typical US-style IPA - If you are an IPA fan , you will like it. But meanwhile, I remain faithful to Imperial IPA , which is my favourite Argentine IPA.

I've seen the Imperial IPA for sale here but don't remember trying it....shall have to get it. Must admit I'm no beer expert so usually just get what's on offer if the price is right. Never thought I'd be buying Quilmes in bulk but the last few weeks I've been buying the small sized bottles which they've been selling for the government price of 41 pesos. The credit card used gets another 15% off that.

UK Man , have you tried the Quilmes Red Bock? - it's more a German-style dark beer. I find it quite decent but have only seen it in the large can .
I also don't mind the Quilmes Stout - reminds me a wee bit of Tennents Sweet Stout .....
If you like IPÀs , Imperial is the best Argie one and normally on a 3 for 2 in one of the big supermarkets

Not tried the Red Bock. Think I've had the Quilmes stout and found it too sweet....was either that or the Schneider one. I usually just stick to the St Wendeler stout if I can get it.

Here’s a topic tailor made for the booze/boozers thread: counterfeiting of high-end liquors. Long a problem with single malt scotch whiskey, counterfeiting has arrived in the luxury bourbon market.
This article gives tips for spotting the fakes. (If anyone who is paywalled wants to read, let me know and I’ll cut & paste for you)
That $1,000 Bourbon You Bought May Be a PhonyCounterfeiting — filling luxury bottles with cheap liquor — has hit American whiskey hard as sky-high prices raise the payoff for scammers.www.nytimes.com -

Would never happen here.......

That's why I buy the cheap stuff...it's always the 'real deal'.

Half way through this new to me Quilmes 'Double Malt' beer. I got this six pack 'on the cheap' due to it being on offer plus another 35% off after the missus paid for the shopping using a certain bank card. It's okay for the price I paid but I would never pay the full asking price...it'd be a rip-off!!

Looks interesting ..
Is it dark?
What was the price you paid?
We got a lady who comes round our barrio with good offers on beer. She is competitive with the big supermarkets and she brings it to your door!
We have another one who does wine- Again decent prices direct to your door!

It's the colour of Pale Ale. The ''sale offer'' was around 630 pesos for 6 cans in La Anonima. I wasn't going to buy it then decided with the credit card money back offer I'd just take it to try. Even at that it's not worth it in my opinion Gj.

Time for a beer.

I went to a food fair in Caseros in November and bought a pint of Irish Stout from a food truck. It was fairly good, not quite Guinness but the best I had tasted in Argentina. I bought 6 cans of the local Guinness recently and it had exactly the same test. Good, but somehow doesn't taste like the real thing. Any other opinions on the local Guinness?

Bought four cans of this in Dia. Had it before and it's not too bad. Cheaper than Coca-Cola.

I think they have managed to replicate the taste of Guinness but until they start using the widget as they do in the UK and the USA , it will never be as good as canned Guinness in those countries.
