Do we have such a thread? If so please move this into it.

Yesterday in La Anonima I spied they had a six can pack of Andes beer on offer. As is usual with their offers they aren't really offers at all.....they have just adjusted the price to a more reasonable level.

Always fancied trying this brand but wasn't prepared to pay such a high price just to try it. As it was 'half price' and I was getting a further 35% off it using a certain credit card I had no hesitation throwing it into the trolley.

Had a can last night but as I hadn't given it enough time to chill in the fridge and I wasn't that thirsty in the first place I thought it tasted odd. 24 hours later and not only was it chilled enough but I was quite parched after being out in todays warm weather. It tasted much better but still not sure if it's to my liking or not. It seems to have a slight floral taste in the background....no idea what it is as I haven't researched it.

I can't see me buying it again but worth a try if you're into these modern sort of beers.

Oh no, UK Man ! I’m afraid you were in the wrong aisle. I looks as if you meant to buy Andes beer, but instead got a six pack of Andes urine. Next time, be sure to read the label!

I've tried some of these newer beers but will stick to Stella, Heineken or imported lager when I can get hold of it. Any beer with a floral taste is a turn off.

You can still find imported beer, usually discounted to around $90 a can and the two gold coloured cans here are left over from a recent party, so I'll probably offer them to guests.

We have a brewery here which makes IPA. They have a 2 pints for the price of 1 happy hour every day which makes their beer cheaper than the supermarket. You can take your bottles in and they'll fill them. Good blokes that run it as well they'll even let you try before you buy.

the Andes red is really nice...... I drink it a lot. The rubia is just normal.....

Be aware of all the "foreign" brands..... Heineken, stella, Amstel......they are from here......just the name the use and maybe a little different taste than Quilmes etc, but head n belly ache stays the same!!!!!

I just don't buy, to much money for buying a brand. My neighbors here think they drink European beer.....they don't even read label.

Coto and carrefour and dia constantly has 3x2 , 4x2 etc........I always stock up when they have......last weekend 4x2 Antares......70 pesos for an excellent beer, not to bad!

For the people that like refreshing and lightish beer, (trigo), buy the franziskaner weizenbier......it's what is always served in South of Germany when it get hot in weather......

They are victims of colossal ignorance. As are Chinese restaurants. We’re going to one today, just to support the people who are already struggling to build a successful small business.

Eight 500ml cans of St Wendeler Pils purchased this evening from Dia. I much prefer the St Wendeler Lager (green can) if you haven't tried it is worth sampling as I think it's stronger and tastier but they didn't have any.

This story might not be accurate. Let’s hope not, anyway.

The offer is on for the whole of March I believe so no rush.

Only had one can as I had wine with my dinner followed by a nip of rum with my coffee. I'm not a big drinker Jan. I prefer variety rather than downing ten pints of beer at one session.

I'm a once a week drinker, but when I do have a drink, it has to be a decent beer like Kronenbourg 1664, Lowenbrau or British ale if I can get my hands on it. When that runs out it's locally brewed Stella, which is fine.

Then it's vino rosado (I can't drink red any more) and if I'm feeling in the mood, a couple Captain Morgan's with Coke.

Strange thing is I rarely drank when I lived in the UK. It's only since coming to live here I started. I now drink every day, mostly wine with lunch or dinner and a dram before going to bed. I don't go OTT as I know it would make me ill.
