Argentine Attorneys / law firms.

  • Has anyone any experience with using an Argentine attorney or law firm?

I would be interested to know how effective they are as well as an approximation of their hourly rates? And in general, anything you can share would be welcome information to me.

    Thanks!

  • I've never had to deal with lawyers/solicitors in the UK so can't compare to how it works here. However the impression I get regarding decisions made in court (especially when it comes to land ownership) do seem to favour the clients with money. Lawyers are well aware of this so cut themselves a good deal before the case is heard in court.

All a bit dodgy if you ask me but I may well be wrong.

  • Well ...

I do have my eyes open for a good attorney who can be knowledgable about many areas of interest. If someone knows of one, please make me aware of him or her as the case may be.

    THANKS!

  • I have to apologize to the board!

It looks like I started this thread in the wrong area. SORRY ABOUT THAT.

If someone knows how to fix it, I would appreciate it very much.

I will get familiar with how things work quickly. (Again, very sorry.)

It really depends on what you need done. Lots of small firms charging reasonable prices . I would avoid big firms unless it is specialist ta xadvice . Smalll commercial claims are best left with small lawyers with two or three partners , in our experience.

  • I don't have much experience, just with inheritance. Most lawyers are not responsive at all. Some won't return calls.

Some provide irregular service (once they're super, the next time the won't even pick up the phone).

My advice is to get RECENT feedback on specific issues, rather than a generic contact.

For me, time was of the essence and only two (out of 6+) actually replied with timing and fees.

When the choice is between no service at all and some service, it isn't a hard choice.
