It's impossible not to listen to your Argentine neighbours conversations in the garden even with a 20 foot wall between you!! I experience it every week.

It's not so much the rubber necking I mind, but more the removal of open space between us and the sky.
Anyway, once the youngster has moved out and we've made some repairs and paint jobs, we'll be off too. We're looking for a house with a garden primarily, because a stone patio and a tiled upper terrace doesn't really cut it for us. There's also the question of privacy because our living room and two bedrooms literally have windows to the street/pavement.
It wasn't one of our best decisions to buy this particular house, but there you go.

They did all that rather quickly, didn’t they? Or have I just lost track of time?

That's an architect design. They've only started on the ground floor because the local council put a stop to the project for not submitting proper plans.
Pelotudos!

Well done to the council. 👍

Maybe they should buy your half and have the whole bldg tarted up?

Our house is going on the market next week as the painters have almost finished. They are very fast workers and only started on Tuesday.
Some before and after shots.

We’ll be crossing our fingers for a quick sale.

All the best.

We've delayed out house sale until after the wedding - just too much going on. Also, all work has stopped next door because the local council slapped another order on the owners to cease work due to a lack of correct plans.
Meanwhile, every weekend this is the view from our front door and that's only a fraction of it. It's good to see people out and about and enjoying the fresh air, but when you add thousands of joggers, cars, scooters and everything else, you can bet it gets noisy.
Maybe I should set up a chorizo stand at the front door?

Good grief! With all that traffic, someone looking for a house just like your is bound to either see or hear about your “for sale” sign! But meanwhile, it’s good to put the sale on the back burner and concentrate on your wedding.
THEN you can start selling choris straight from your parrilla to all those nature enthusiasts going by! The aroma will draw them in, and you’ll make such a fortune that you’ll decide to keep the house because of its location.

Could almost think you live in Hyde Park with all those health fanatics passing your front door!!
The housing market has stalled here for the last year. We know a couple of people who can't sell and have taken the properties off the market. Whilst on the other hand building plots are being snapped at. So much so sellers have been able to raise their prices.

The builders are back next door after six months absence, presumably for planning permission to come through. The wall is going up next to our terrace and literally outside my den.

Ask to see the building permit?

Yes, they've now got them stuck on the front of the house.

Looks better in my opinion. Will they put a finish and paint your side?

Wtf?
A fifteen foot wall looks better?
