The Misery Index...Venezuela and Argentina come first and second.

  • happy happy happy happy happy happy

    Hahaha....

I think it's because we can mentally control our brains to be happy...... hahaha........

But seriously, argis n venezulos are very much the same......fuck up everything themselves, then blame other and then run around pulling the guilt trick on others and become unhappy.......the idea that u r responsible yourself for your country and your happiness does not cross their mind......my old nazi chef in Germany always said, there are people running around waiting for a chicken to fall down from the sky......grilled of course!!!

  • You can hardly blame the Venezuelan people for the calamity that's befallen their country. What a load of tosh you speak sometimes Jan.

  • You can hardly blame the Venezuelan people for the calamity that's befallen their country. What a load of tosh you speak sometimes Jan.

    Are you kidding Splinter ????

U wanna tell me that the Venezuela people have no guilt in the state of the country????? Who is then responsible????

The state of the country did not arrive in one day...... it happened over decades...... and the people played along...... now its a shithole, and I feel for them....... but again, who is to blame????

Who is to blame in Argentina??? The Yankees? The Brits? The Paraguayan, the chillibollis?

I'm sorry to be hard, but seriously, many of the Venezuela people are to dumb to put a seed in the ground and start all over.......you have a climate that accommodate nearly any vegetables that u would like.....still, seems like no one really get on the idea......

If I had nothing to eat, that would be the first to do.....plant a few veggies to have at least that as food.......

So again Splinter please explain me who should be hold accountable in Venezuela.... Please dont tell me Maduro or Chavez......since they have had support decades.....maybe not full but extreme support.

  • Yet people in Argentina carry on and smile, enjoying life. You really wouldn't think all the problems existed if you looked at packed cafes and restaurants.

I think this ability to carry on and smile is one of the characteristics we all find so brave, positive and admirable. Given the near impossibility of changing anything, what is the alternative?

  • exactly......

    The people themselves!!!

At a certain point you need to take your faith in your own hand.......that's how it is!

Now is obvious it's a manipulated dictatorship......but it was going that direction decades.

Who do they expect solve the mess? Their mama? I see huge similarities with Argentina.....

  • That reminds me of a large highway sign we saw last year when driving north through Mississippi towards Memphis, Tennessee :

MISSISSIPPI, I’M NOT YOUR MAMA. PICK UP YOUR TRASH.

Maybe voters everywhere need to be reminded that the state is not their Mama. Sadly, in countries like Venezuela, voters don’t actually choose their government As long as elections result in 94% of the votes mysteriously falling to the strongman in power. And in Argentina, the middle class is in an ever shrinking minority, with little to no control over the outcome.

    So how will things change?

  • Rice ........its true your Statement about Venezuela NOW, but years back it wasn't.....

The model in Venezuela was supported by majority during many decades......the idea of that things only go up......

    Then suddenly it didn't!!!!

Nobody ever got on the idea to prepare.....like f.ex. Norway.

And just an offside note regarding the oil price dumping back in time: many would straight away blame the Americans........ nevertheless, it wasn't caused by the Americans, it was caused by the Saudis!!! The Saudis wanted to get the American producers of expensive oil, (fragging), to throw the towel and resign.......so the Saudis all agreed to dumb the oil price......the American producers was in their knees but didn't surrender and managed to keep operating.

If you would ask any middle or South American, specially from Venezuela or other left wing country, they would straight away blame the evil empire......

    Blame your own ignorance....

Would be great to bring up this discussion with baboon_cero....

    Hahaha

Yes it's nice to see but I'm not so sure it cancels out all the negatives. People in the UK smile as well especially those in the regions.

I know which side of the Atlantic I'd rather spend the rest of my life in.

  • You cannot conveniently blame the Venezuelan mess on the people, not now anyway.

Probably the K mess because they were voted in by 54%. In Maduro's mess, you vote for whom you're told to and they are rigged anyway.

Let's face it the whole of S America is a basket case. Anything can happen.

  • Would be great to bring up this discussion with baboon_cero....

    Hahaha

I don’t believe he knows the first thing about central/south America’s economy or history. Besides, he would be too preoccupied with his own impeachment to be bothered.

From the F/F vs Macri election, is there any reliable voting data with demographic breakdowns by education level and economic status?

    so who is to blame?????

    The Arabs?

Again, this is the situation now, but they have themselves lead it this way........ Venezuela was not a dictatorship some years back.

And again, who should sort out their problems????
