You Scots are really on the ball today!
Read this just this morning:
"Mexico City, home to at least 21 million people, is currently sinking at a rate of about three feet per year. The reason for this is that the city consumes almost 290 billion gallons of water each year and that around 70% of that water comes from an aquifer directly below the city. As the city grows and demand increases this issue will only get worse. A number of buildings in the city are already leaning because of land subsidence issues as the water table drops. While there is no way to reverse the sinking that has already occurred, experts agree that the city needs to find alternative ways to collect water before it's too late."
I just guessed. I assumed the reason was seismic rather than water extraction.

True, serafina. I was thinking the same thing. We haven't been there in years, but at the time, the US Dollar was pretty strong, and we found Vienna pretty pricey. But of course there's a difference between traveler affordability and residents' concept of livability, something that considers
stability, culture and environment, education, infrastructure and health care.
This is Vienna's second consecutive year to be so designated by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)
Sacher torte, anyone?
Never been in Vienna but I have been in Innsbruck which I thought was lovely especially with its mountain background. Hope there aren't any Austrians/Germans lurking but to be honest I didn't see much difference between Bavaria and that part of Austria.
Besides Antarctica, which continent has the fewest countries?
Asia
Australia & Oceania
North America
South America
