Looking for a career change? Enjoy vicarious travel? Want to work for not one boss but a whole extended family?

  • Queen Elizabeth is currently hiring a new Director of Royal Travel.

The coveted role comes with an impressive salary of "up to £85,000 per annum" (approximately $109,ooo).

As well as organizing transport for members of the royal family, the staff member will schedule trips on the Royal Train, and help coordinate State Visits.

If you're ready for a career change then look no further, because the queen is hiring.

As reported by Hello! magazine, the enviable job of Director of Royal Travel is currently being advertized on LinkedIn. While the job is based in London, it understandably requires some overseas travel.

Per LinkedIn, the individual will be responsible for "leading a small team in the Royal Travel office, and The Queen’s Helicopter Flight, based at Odiham." It will also be necessary to provide some "logistic support to the Royal Household including support of Court moves, State Visits and the provision of the staff travel service in support of all Households."

The role requires working 37.5 hours per week, with some "on call" expectations, presumably when the royals are making important visits or traveling around the globe. The vacancy listing also notes, "This role is critical to ensuring that the Royal Household operates and purchases safe, efficient, cost effective and appropriate travel services for the official duties of Members of the Royal Family and their Households."

The closing date for the role is December 20, meaning that you have more than enough time to dust off that résumé and think about what qualifies you to work for the royal family.

  • The salary looks appealing, but can you imagine the demands, the repercussions for the smallest glitch, etc.?

The part about a 37.5 hr work week made me burst into laughter.
