Curious to know how many different supermarkets you have down there UK Man ?

We have one La Anonima and one Vea and that's it. Both in the centre of town about 100 yards from each other.
Parking is a ruddy nightmare at certain times of the day especially when the offers are on. Vea is the larger of the two so is a more relaxing shopping experience but still lags well behind your typical Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury's etc.

Perhaps the worst part of the shopping experience at supermarkets is the endless waits in long lines. Exacerbated by the inevitable last stage, when the person just in front of you reaches the cashier and 1) remembers another item they need to go fetch, 2) has a problem with the price or weight of produce, requiring a staff member to go check it, or 3) gets into a long, animated personal conversation with the cashier.

The worst part for me is the lack of space especially when you have a trolley. Not helped when they have a load of tins or bottles displayed in the middle or end of an aisle forcing you to shift direction...not easy when your trolley has a wonky wheel.

We're having our friends over on Sunday for a BBQ. Oscar likes his beer so I see Dia are doing a 3for2 offer on beer tomorrow. Only certain brands of course which will no doubt be priced up for the offer....

I see it's only for Quilmes and Brahma. Anyway, heavy thunderstorms here at the moment with more tomorrow so looks as if we'll have to postpone the BBQ for another day.

Went to the furthest away Dia in town and was able to take advantage of the beer offer. To top it all off I also got 10 KitKats on a 2-1 offer.

Had a look at their Nescafe Classico and saw they were selling it at 199 pesos...80 pesos less than the other Dia blaggards were wanting to charge my wife the other 'offer' day. Strange thing is this Dia despite having Dia products and offers, doesn't have a Dia shop sign it advertises itself as an Autoservicio. We'll be back.

Dia is a franchising and I believe there are different scaling venues one can open: the small ones, the medium ones and the full supermarket ones.

    Maybe this explains price differences.

If Día’s autoservicios can sell Dia’s own labeled products at a lower price there than at its full supermarkets, you’ve found your nirvana, UK Man !

Could well be serafina. The missus after scanning the receipt went back into the shop to query a strange discount...the ones for the beer and the KitKats were there as were the empty returnablw beer bottles. She found out it was because she flashed her account number on her app. How refreshing to see a discount work in our favour for a change. Even more reason to go back and shop there.

Not sure if I was happier to get the discounted beer or the KitKats...the latter probably as I didn't know they were on offer until the missus spotted them. ^^

The extra discount was for 70 pesos IIRC.
