Recycling

  • We’ve had a Punta Verde in our plaza for several years, and we dutifully feed glass bottles into the vidrios opening, paper into the paper opening, plastic into the plastic opening .


    Last week, the woman collecting the contents of these three containers was asking everyone to place recyclables directly into the large bins awaiting pickup. Guess what? She had mixed all three categories together! So why do we separate them?

    I think it is just for show or to force people to look at what kind of other items can be recycled, besides those they are bringing.

    In fact, most recycling bin (the yellow ones) are mixed. Only Punto Verde has the three holes (for plastic, glass and paper).
