I've just completed the necessary certification for a more secure forum experience and this should take effect within the next few hours.

The forum will therefore become https://domain name and will display a green padlock. It's become necessary in an insecure world of hackers and phishing etc and is almost mandatory for many web extensions/plugins nowadays.

There should be no interruption of service either, so please keep posting away!

    Edit

Unlinked the https address until such time as it's activated.

That depends where you go. There are free certificates like https://ssl.comodo.com/free-ssl-certificate.php

But I arranged this through my web host directly so that they did all the complicated back room stuff.

The site is now secure and the certificate issued correctly, so you'll now see a green padlock in the top left of the address bar.

The warning 'you are visiting an insecure site (sic)' will no longer appear.

There was a wee break in the SSL (HTTPS) status today, but that has now been fixed.

You may need to refresh your browsers.

Splinter ..I know my browser was issuing a "website insecure" notification. Glad you have it sorted.
