There's a plant I've been after for the patio for some time but I didn't know what it was, so when we went for a walk on Sunday, I spotted it. Just as I was taking a photo for Google Lens, a lady popped her head out of an upstairs window of the nearby house and told us to take as much of the plant as we wanted, so we did!
It turns out to be Horsetail or Scouring Rush, grows very tall and can be a nuisance if not controlled as it spreads by ryzomes. I managed to plant a few that didn't break, so we'll see how they go.

In the UK it's a weed and a right bloody nuisance. It's much smaller compared to the one you get here though.

Indeed. It's common to see here especially in narrow raised borders outside new build houses/offices exactly where you have planted it. It's very attractive.
