Yummmmmm! Will you make fig preserves?

Cristina used to make it a lot but she now finds it all a bit of a faff. We picked more this morning and will keep the ripened ones to eat herself and give the semi ripe ones to a friend of hers who's a cheese expert to make preserve. Seemingly you have to use semi ripe ones for preserve and not soft ripened ones.

Same as my missus. By the look of it she'll have to keep doing it for the next couple of weeks as well.

Bit spooky I've only ever seen the Scottish thistle growing wild outside our place in the countryside and nowhere else. They're in full flower at the mo.

It seems they were introduced to Argentina in the late 19th century. No idea by whom but as my great great uncle Guy came here from Scotland to engineer the railways I'd like to think he brought some seeds. ^^

Palo borracho trees are another favorite of mine.

Forgot I'd taken these pics last week. A picture of one of the two mature Palo Borracho trees we have out in the countryside. Plus one of the young ones that grew on its own from seed.....the thorns show up well!!
