They ARE looking great, daniel. Lucky the deer let you enjoy those gorgeous blossoms before they start to chow down.
A neighbor of ours, eyeing the row of hostas leading to our doorway, commented that it was a shame the deer had eaten all the blooms. Knowing that there are many varieties of hosta, I replied that we’d planted these 20 years ago and had never seen a bloom, so these must be a variety without flowers. After politely explaining that I was an idiot, she pointed out that the deer had clearly been eating them from the start.

A pleasant afternoon spent out at the countryside place. The agapanthus are startiing to come into flower now....they don't half take their flippin' time. Around six the sky got very dark in the horizon so we left and just got back home as the storm arrived. Had some thunder and heavy rain but it's gone off now.

To be honest I can't stand the place....

I would enjoy the peace and quiet, not to mention the gardening.
Trouble is there's too much gardening to do to get the time to enjoy the peace and quiet. We also have enough garden at home to look after and we're not getting any younger. Anyway, if the new motorway ever gets built there won't be any peace and quiet.

The house must have been lovely to live in at one time but the years have taken their toll. Although we got work done to it last year it would cost a fortune to put the rest of it right. Just not worth it to be honest as it would be cheaper in the long run to knock it down and build a new one in its place. As our long term future in Argentina is unsure that's not going to happen. Even more so with the new motorway ending up just down the road.

To be honest Rice you have a weekend retreat in Scotland to be amongst nice scenery, go walks and to have a nice pub close for a meal. Our place is only a fifteen minute drive away in the middle of fields of corn and soya. Not my cup of tea.

But surrounded by that beautiful garden? I’d say all you’re missing is a nice pub. And maybe some KitKats. (Or maybe not even those? )

We have a reasonable sized and easier to manage garden here in the town so no need for another one. Especially when it means more work. I'm nearly an old age pensioner you know.

I'd rather enjoy a quiet life in my home country, where fiscal freedom and legal certainty are guaranteed and where a stray sheep on the road isn't mugged and shot dead by a murdering, drug riddled zombie.

Must admit to not being a great lover of them but cacti and succulents do grow like weeds here. We have one which only flowers during darkness and lasts just one night. Caught it when out with the dogs a couple of weeks go.
