I agree. I was recently reading a conversation on FB on cannabis oil and the quality stuff is very expensive and hard to find. I don't think there is a strict regulation on cannabis oil, at least here, so you'll never know.
Personally, I don't even smoke pot (tried once while at the university and didn't enjoy it, so no worth the hassle for me) but maybe I'd give it a serious try (for fun) if it was properly regulated. I am not keen on ingesting stuff I don't know where it comes from.
It looks like that fair might have creams and other oils available.

Different types of plant, one makes you have more energy the other makes you sleepy. Most weed would be a hybrid of the two anyway, but perhaps your dealer was heavy on the indica.
