It’s undoubtedly lurking just off camera.

It will be fabulous - and what a treat that you’re making it yourself!
How will you celebrate?

Death by Chocolate looks divine! I’ll bet Adri has already realized that celebrating a significant birthday with 3 friends and an adoring husband is MUCH better than with a house full of people not as close. She’ll always remember this birthday!

I would have covered the crack with some chocolate coloured polyfilla. However all that matters is, did it taste good?

I have wondered why “Joe.” But in any case, I prefer tea. Coffee is so bitter, while tea is lovely and soothing. I think I’ll have a cup right now!

The cake was very popular by the way and people were actually asking for the recipe.
Trouble is, I made it up as I went along.

Shit frozen pizza. Has to be said I think all pizza is overated shite anyway....like everything else Italian.

While I’d choose just about anything before settling for a frozen pizza, still, an actual homemade pizza or one from a reputable pizza restaurant would win my vote anytime.
You’ve now made me want a good pizza right this minute!

How about Frozen pizza made by an award-winning chef?
Pizza Zen is one of the fastest-growing pizza companies in Argentina. Controlled by the Petersen brothers and one of their sons, they make a very good selection of pizzas and empanadas.
Hand-made and cooked in clay ovens, they are frozen as soon as they come out of the ovens.
They are really genuinely very good

I’d be willing to try one. Where are they sold, GlasgowJohn ?
-

Rice , when you get back down, I will bring you a couple!
They sell directly via their own delivery service in the capital and around Tigre , where they have their base.
Also available in upmarket delicatessen type supermarkets
Elsewhere they have a network of distributors
The Petersen brothers have a couple of restaurants in zona norte and have a TV programme as well .

I happily accept your delightful offer, GlasgowJohn . We are missing Buenos Aires terribly, and hope that our return won’t be postponed indefinitely.

I'll give it a try....it has to be said when it comes to pizza I'm VERY hard to please. Even a freshly made pizza from a highly regarded pizza restaurant here didn't do anything for me. Best pizza in Argentina I've had was a frozen McCain one!! Even the one I made in our beehive oven in the quinta wasn't very good.

At what temperature did you cook the homemade pizza, UK Man ? That beehive oven, fired up to 260 Celsius, should give a perfect crust.
No idea....there's no temperature control. I was told by a gaucho to put it in soon as I couldn't put my hand inside for more than a couple of seconds. It might look impressive to visitors who've never seen one in action before. However it's far too much faffing about just for a ruddy pizza to be honest.

Down the block, a group of young Argentinians rented an old car workshop to open a pizzeria with a traditional wooden-fired oven, Italian style.
During the pandemic they started selling their pizza frozen online. They have over 20k followers on Instagram. The smell coming from their windows was delicious and I sent my husband knocking to ask for a pizza. They didn't bake every day: they baked 2-3 days a week and delivered on the other days. In december they finally opened for seating on the sidewalk and everybody can have a freshly baked pizza.
I have seen the frozen ones at the local dietetica but it was pretty unappealing to me, to be honest. It was thin as paper and flat.
