That rings a bell. Did he write a book about his trip?
No but he's got a YouTube channel.
By the way, it's cold outside 10c and I'm very wrapped up for a few deliveries today, so here's a windchill chart.

No frost here, just hot and humid!!!! I guess it is about winter time at the south end to nowhere!!!!
Pretty chilly when I got up this morning and even nippier on the bike.
One tee shirt
One tee shirt with long sleeves
One shirt
Bike jacket with winter liner (detachable)
Bike trousers with winter liner (detachable)
Long Johns (black)
Two pairs of socks
Leather riding boots
Revitt leather and Goretex gloves with extra second skin gloves
Neck muffler (black)
That's why I posted the windchill chart, because the combination of cold and speed makes a huge difference and the cold air, much like rain, will always find a way in.
I find the secret is to try and get as warm as you can before putting on all the gear, then staying warm for half an hour then hopping on the bike. Especially your fingertips, because once they get cold it takes ages to warm them up.
been a biker since age 17..... remembering my first biker years in Denmark.....
There was absolutely NO WAY of putting enough clothes on to drive more than maybe 30-60 min in the colder season, just impossible.
I remember driving a few hundred kilometers, packed in like a mummy, still by arrival frozen to death. And I really love cold weather.
As you state, the speed is the cracking point....if u would roll around with 50 km/h, maybe u could last longer but would also demand more hours in the cold, so an impossible game.
The parts of your body bearing little fat and muscles are the risky parts.....for example front of your lower legs.....your bones start to hurt like you are gonna die.
I'll skip the long rides nowadays during days like today.
I can't imagine what a Danish winter can be like on a bike. Well down below zero I would imagine and anything below about 7c begins to ramp up the windchill, according to that chart.
0c here when I got up this morning however it's been a beautiful day due to there being little wind. I was up on the roof clearing the gutters of leaves and being in the sun was very enjoyable.
The outside temperature today is around 7c (44f), so at 70 mph it feels like zero, which is why I'm wearing a tee shirt, a long sleeved tee shirt, a shirt, three pairs of socks and a protective jacket with winter quilted liner.
But that wasn't enough this morning, so I've now thrown on a jumper and the extra socks. I also have very substantial gloves to which I've added inner gloves.
That cold always finds its way in somehow, even through my leather boots. I feel like a spaceman.
Maybe a rugged beard would keep your face warm?
