How do you access the forum? 7

    1. Desktop PC Windows or Linux (3) 43%
    2. Desktop Mac (1) 14%
    3. Laptop Windows (2) 29%
    4. Macbook (0) 0%
    5. iPad (0) 0%
    6. iPhone (1) 14%
    7. Android phone (0) 0%

With so many different methods and devices available, it would be useful to know how members access the forum, so that we can make improvements where necessary.

Android is any phone other than an iPhone, so please also mention the method which could be Tapatalk, [definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect or web browser.

Tapatalk and [definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect are explained here and here.

([definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect is now available for iPhone)

Laptop Windows the majority of the time for me. When away from the house I use my Android phone to browse the forum but don't post as I hate using the keyboard.

serafina have you tried the [definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect for iPhone? It's much better than Tapatalk.

I installed tapatalk awhile back, but don’t see any point for me, as I don’t participate in other forums. Is there any advantage to [definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect? Am thinking I might ditch tapatalk.

[definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect is very slick and is faster than using a browser, anyway. Tapatalk is for people who use multiple forums, really.

It's also compatible with iPads. Give it a whirl and see how you get on :)

I participate in another forum also on Tapatalk for business, so I'll stick with Tapatalk, though I am not a fan of the Tapatalk app!

I’ll think about installing [definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] Connect on the iPad. So far that is the only device I have used to access this forum. I do not access any other [definition='1','1']WSC[/definition] built forums. Is the app still considered better than the browser based version? Does anyone have new opinions since this 2019 discussion?

Rice uses the iOS app I believe on her iPhone. I use the Android version which is excellent.

Safari on iOS isn’t perfect (e.g., keyword searches are useless).

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve tested the forum mostly Firefox on iPad the past two weeks. Some lurking without login from iPad chrome, and android Firefox. I lost my modern android in a taxi, and now using an ancient one that cannot handle any more installed apps.

I post on the forum from my mobile simply using my web browser (Chrome for iOS) and it works perfectly. I can even copy-paste pictures.

Yes that is what I probably will stick with. Firefox and/or chrome on iPad. Will at least test the WSC-connnect to compare

serafina , do you use Chrome on your iPhone instead of Safari? Or both? I have better luck with key word searches on the forum when I use Chrome, but out of laziness, usually revert to Safari.

I have both browsers both on my computer and on my mobile. I switched to Chrome because it was working better with some website I routinely use. However, it is more demanding so if you have older hardware, maybe it takes up too many resources. My husband's 15 years old iMac overheats with Chrome, so he uses Firefox.
