This is a stunning and emotional tribute to 50 years since Apollo 11 and it made me proud to be an American - several generations removed, of course.
But nevertheless, something all of us should be proud of.

A very proud moment indeed, not only for the USA, but the entire human race. A testament to what humans can do if they can quit fighting long enough. and work together, Sadly though, at that moment in time 50 years ago, I was stationed in a faraway place called Phu Loi, Vietnam, making daily flights, on a H Model Huey, with a M60 pinned between my legs, and dangling out of the door saying "clear left" to the pilot. Did not even know of the Apollo 11 launch until I was back in-country. Loved the video!!!

daniel, thank you for your bravery. The additional element that I never considered was that, before out 21st century communications, deployed military missed all that was happening in the rest of the world.
Very moving video, @ Splinter. At that time in history, Americans could justifiably be proud of their country and inspired by its leadership.

Let's face it although it was a fantastic
achievement the US only done it to beat the Russians. -

The competition didn’t in any way diminish the achievement, did it?

An Air Canada plane needs to make an emergency landing in Madrid due to a problem with its undercarriage.
Live
Fortunately, the plane landed safely in Madrid.
As an aside, Paola, the host of TN Live asked an experienced pilot, knowing that the plane had an engine problem and had lost one wheel:
"Why doesn't the plane just carry on to Toronto instead of burning all that fuel over Madrid?"
The mind boggles at the intelligence - or lack of - of some TV hosts, frankly.

Read this article about Betelgeuse and have your imagination stretched to the limit - even light years maybe.
Quote
Whenever Betelgeuse finally does go supernova — and it could be tonight, next decade, or 100,000 years from now — it will become the most-witnessed astronomical event in human history, visible to nearly all of Earth's inhabitants.Just wow!
